Nate Quarry vs. Jorge Rivera Fight Prediction – Fight Night 21

Fight Overview:  Two solid strikers meet in the Middleweight division.  Quarry has a very one-dimensional offense, but Rivera’s style plays right into his strengths, so if Rivera wants to avoid yet another UFC loss he is going to have to pull off something special.

Rivera’s Strengths:  Rivera has good punching power, and his boxing is aggressive and effective.

Rivera’s Weaknesses:  His chin is not spectacular and he has very porous submission defense.

Quarry’s Strengths:  Quarry has good boxing, heavy hands, and solid takedown and submission defense.

Quarry’s Weaknesses:  His attack is very predictable he is a bit lumbering because of accumulated injuries.

The Verdict:  Rivera has nothing for Quarry.  He wouldn’t take Quarry down even if he could, and in a boxing match Quarry is the clear favorite because he has better technique, better power, and a better chin.  Expect a lot of exchanges, with Quarry getting the better of them and eventually putting Rivera away.
