Amir Sadollah vs Brad Blackburn Fight Prediction – Fight Night 20

AMIR SADOLLAH vs. BRAD BLACKBURN

Fight Overview:  Ultimate Fighter winner Amir Sadollah, coming off a very impressive win over Phil Baroni, will look to make it two in a row against IFL veteran “Bad” Brad Blackburn.  Blackburn’s record is not very impressive overall, but he has looked very good in the UFC so far, and has a huge advantage in experience over Sadollah, who has fought only three times as a professional.

Blackburn’s Strengths:  Blackburn has good standup, both technically and in terms of power.  He is also in very good shape and has great endurance.  Perhaps most importantly, he has had nearly 20 more professional fights than Sadollah, a considerable advantage.

Blackburn’s Weaknesses:  It’s hard to point at a specific part of Blackburn’s game and identify it as a glaring flaw, but he has still managed to struggle through a large part of his career with inconsistent performances.

Sadollah’s Strengths:  Sadollah has very good jiu jitsu, as he proved by armbarring C.B. Dolloway on two separate occasions.  He also showed dangerous striking in his last fight against Phil Baroni, not to mention a good chin in weathering Baroni’s early storm.

Sadollah’s Weaknesses:  Sadollah’s most obvious weakness is his lack of experience.  With only three professional fights under his belt, he will enter with a very serious disadvantage in that department.

The Verdict:  Blackburn’s record isn’t much to look at, but he has been impressive since making the move to the UFC.  Sadollah looked impressive in his last fight, but couldn’t finish a very tired Baroni.  I think Blackburn will take this one by winning the standup changes and controlling the pace of the fight.  Blackburn by UD.

 Prediction: Brad Blackburn by decision.
