Keith Jardine vs Ryan Bader Fight Prediction – UFC 110

KEITH JARDINE vs. RYAN BADER

Fight Overview:  Two former cast members from The Ultimate Fighter, journeyman Keith Jardine and undefeated prospect Ryan Bader, will meet to establish Bader’s place in the division.  Jardine’s record in UFC is not stellar, but he is tough and versatile, making him the perfect “gatekeeper” to see where Bader really stands in UFC’s crowded Light Heavyweight division.

Jardine’s Strengths:  Jardine has heavy hands, unorthodox but effective kickboxing, and very underrated and effective wrestling.

Jardine’s Weaknesses:  Jardine is one of the most inconsistent fighters in the division, destroying former champions and then turning around and getting steamrolled by lesser opposition.

Bader’s Strengths:  Bader is very strong and has extremely good wrestling, top control, and ground and pound.

Bader’s Weaknesses:  Bader’s standup is not excellent, sometimes he has trouble finishing fights, and most importantly, he has faced a fairly low level of opposition, so Jardine is actually a pretty big step up for him.

The Verdict:  Jardine is a difficult opponent, because he has fight-ending power, he’s a tough guy, and he has underrated wrestling which is going to help a lot in keeping this fight competitive.  All that said, though, Bader is too strong and too good a wrestler for Jardine to handle, and he will control this fight from top position on his way to a decision.
