Fight Overview:  Paulo Thiago faces his third American Kickboxing Academy Welterweight in 4 UFC bouts.  So far he is 1-1, but Swick has cemented himself as a top contender in the Welterweight division.

Thiago’s Strengths:  Thiago has excellent jiu-jitsu, good wrestling, and one punch knockout power.

Thiago’s Weaknesses:  His standup is not very good technically, and his wrestling is more defensive, so he is not good at securing takedowns.

Swick’s Strengths:  Swick has very good technical kickboxing, underrated wrestling, and a good chin.

Swick’s Weaknesses:  Swick has been submitted by worse grapplers than Thiago, and has sometimes shown an inability to finish fights, which is dangerous against a guy with big power.

The Verdict:  Swick is too much for Thiago.  His standup is superior, and so is his wrestling, which takes away Thiago’s one advantage, the submission game.  He also has the benefit of training every single day with two guys who have fought Thiago already.  Expect Swick to control this one with boxing and clinch work and earn an easy decision.
